Scheduled
What: We will be upgrading the core network switches at our Canberra Enterprise Cloud Zone to enhance the functionality, stability, maintainability and performance for all customer services.

The upgrade involves deployment of Brocade's industry leading low-latency VDX series Ethernet switches. Brocade VDX switches feature Brocade's self-healing Ethernet fabric technology known as VCS (http://www.brocade.com/en/possibilities/technology/data-center-fabrics.html).

Brocade VDX switches also feature advanced Software Defined Networking (SDN) capabilities. Information on Brocade VDX, VCS and SDN can be found at http://www.brocade.com/en/products-services/switches/data-center-switches.html

Why: This maintenance is being undertaken to improve the resiliency, performance and serviceability of our Canberra Enterprise Cloud Zone.

When: Thursday May 5th 2016 10pm to Friday 6th May 2016 2am AEST

Impact: Network connectivity will be disrupted at various times throughout the maintenance window. Whilst we will be carefully 'cutting across' network devices we cannot guarantee that network connectivity, including storage network connectivity will not be interrupted.

Therefore, as a precaution we will be shutting down all VM instances during the maintenance window to avoid any IO timeouts, errors or corruption.
