Update
Our network engineering team has determined that it will not be possible to cutover physical hosts one at a time due to technical restrictions.

This means that all network connectivity for the Sydney Enterprise Cloud Zone will be interrupted during the maintenance window including storage network access that all services depend upon in order to function.

As such we recommend that customers shut down their VM instances via the cloud management portal prior to the commencement of the maintenance window. All VM instances that remain powered on at the commencement of the maintenance window will be shut down by CloudCentral to ensure all systems are shut down prior to maintenance commencing.

To re-iterate, this maintenance only affects VM instances hosted within the Sydney Enterprise Cloud Availability Zone (australia-sydney-1). VM instances hosted within other zones will not be affected.

Please contact support@cloudcentral.com.au if you have any questions about this maintenance period.

Updated Maintenance Period

What: We will be upgrading the network of our Sydney Enterprise Cloud Availability Zone to enhance the functionality, stability, maintainability and performance for all customer services.

The upgrade involves implementing Brocade's industry leading low-latency VDX series Ethernet switches. Brocade VDX switches feature Brocade's self-healing Ethernet fabric technology known as VCS ().

Brocade VDX switches also feature advanced Software Defined Networking (SDN) capabilities. Information on Brocade VDX, VCS and SDN can be found at http://www.brocade.com/products/all/switches/ and http://www.brocade.com/solutions-technology/technology/vcs-technology/

Why: This maintenance is being undertaken to improve the resiliency, performance and serviceability of our Sydney Enterprise Cloud Zone. The upgrades also prepare us for introducing advanced SDN features which will become available later this year.

When: Saturday May 9th 2015 : 8pm - 11:45pm AEST

Impact: Network connectivity will be disrupted during the maintenance window. Whilst we will be 'cutting across' one device at a time we cannot guarantee that network connectivity will not be interupted. As a result CloudCentral recommends that customers shut down their VM instances during the maintenance window to avoid storage timeouts and IO errors.

CloudCentral will contact services with Managed Cloud Service agreements individually to make the necessary arrangements to minimise disruption to your services.

If you have any further queries regarding the upgrade please contact us on support@cloudcentral.com.au
